Quartalsbericht
Quarterly Report
In the following report I will detail to describe how it happened to me in the first 3 months here at my other service abroad in La Paz, Bolivia's seat of government of the city and what is the scope of my work. After a short adjustment period
discussed in La Paz, in the Basic things such as finance, accommodation and security have been abundant and useful information from our supervisor and Joan Sebastian on the Bolivian daily life submitted, we finally visited the projects of the Foundation to us after the visits, for a project in which we will work this year could decide.
I've finally decided on the project "Casa Esperanza". The decision was relatively easy. To select the projects for me, "Casa de Paso acogida" true, "Trabajadores" and even the "Casa Esperanza". I liked or still like all 3 projects, but as I am I think here in La Paz to help street children and with adults in order to save money, was the project "Trabajadores" out of the race. Since the guide me is satisfied and the staff at Casa Esperanza more than that of the Casa de Paso, I've decided for the former and I regret my decision in no way, quite the contrary, I am pleased to be able to work successfully there. The Casa Esperanza
I work with England's Timothy James Schwier, who has become a really good friend, eight hours a day, sometimes more, but that does not matter. The boys who live in the home, aged 6-18 years, we have for the most part very friendly and nice reception, as well as the staff has received us well. At first it was a little difficult, of course, the whole name of the boy at least 50 and learn to understand everything on a linguistic level, which now is no longer a problem. In the first month we have learned about the project right first time, that is visited the different areas, consisting of "Apoyo escolar", "Psycologia", "Trabajo Social" and the "Medico". In addition, we first met the guys really to win a lot of talk with them for their trust step by step. After about one month, we should then choose an area in which we want to bring something more. For me, the Area Trabajo Social was very interesting in this area is about contact with family members who are in the home be Jungen zu treten, Familien ausfindig zu machen und sich um eine eventuelle Resozialisierung des Beneficiarios in seine Familie zu kümmern. Manchmal It is already extremely hard and frightening what some boys inflicted sexual, physical and psychological abuse suffered by almost all boys. I also support now Susanna, the doctor. My job is to accompany and support them while the guys in the hospital Arco Iris, the doctor or dentist in Casa de Paso, for physical therapy or to the orthodontist. In addition, support Tim and I regularly take refuge in the afternoon some boys who are often late in games halls and not even go to school and some try to be begging on the street by a few Bolivianos to earn it.
Das Leben in unserer Residential community is also very good so far, of course, there are often disparities that are then eliminated very quickly and amicably. In Voluntärshaus which is in the district Alto Obrajes is, I live currently with my good friend Niko in a nice twin room. Depending on the health of my roommates, it often happens that I do not snore through his penetrating and get to sleep so of escape often in a private room must be able to sleep so as to be fit for the next morning. With a few volunteers I see myself already really good. Marius, Niko, Tim, Anna and Su are here in La Paz has become to really good friends, caring for one if one doing badly and so always have an open ear for you.
It's really amazing how fast time here in this beautiful country of Bolivia will pass. I still can not believe I'm already over three months now and am about to write my first quarter report. Time passes just as in the flight that must be good because I like it here so well. It is also easy to almost nothing after work must still purchases are made, you eat what, or English classes, going to the gym, come home and talk to other volunteers and then it's pretty fast pretty late and goes to bed. Nothing more Still, I am always on the day ahead and I'm really happy here can serve my community service, once again a huge thank you for this!
Although the work is often nerve-wracking, I make them extremely happy and I have the boys in the project already very fond of and I think I already also. The first three months here in La Paz were beautiful and I've already learned a lot, in many ways. I'm looking forward to the upcoming weeks and hope that I continue shall be made as good as before.
Greetings from La Paz to Germany, Lukas
